MARCH 02, 2011
Hello folks,
Thanks to those of you who have written to say that you can't attend. We'll miss your physical presence, but I hope you'll be able to attend virtually.
We will be blogging on the http://maallt2011.grouply.com site, tweeting from global_studio (with a #maallt11 hashtag), and inviting participation through Skype and UStream. Announcements will be posted on the grouply site and tweeted. (Join the site and start following @global_studio now.)
For those of you who are attending in person, the reception--which can probably count as supper--runs from 5 - 9, with 'last call' at 8:30 p.m. It is in the International Center Commons, where I'll have the parking passes and everything else.
It would be very useful if those of you attending in person could complete the registration form. It is linked from (a) the 'participate' page on the grouply site, and the menu on the right.
Please do think of what you'd like to share at the Unconference. In addition to the GIS/Spatial Analysis workshop (scheduled at 11 a.m. Saturday), we'll certainly be discussing topics like:
1. We have live TV, what do we do with it?
2. What do ideal learning spaces look like? (You'll be seeing lots of examples in the new International Center, including an outdoor 'classroom'.)
3. Using podcasting, Flips, and blogging to meet instructional goals
4. There's an app for that! Show-and-tell plus discussion of favorite apps for mobile devices, how to incorporate into classes, and places to find more
5. CALL research trends and resources
6. Technology and study abroad
...and many more (depending on participant suggestions)
Looking forward to seeing you all very soon--either in person or virtually,
Sharon
